Today is the feast day of the two youngest visionaries of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Francisco and St. Jacinta. One of the quotes from Jacinta that has haunted me is this, “I wish people could see hell, then they would be terrified to go there.” This from a little child! I guess actually seeing hell would have a profound effect on any of us, but especially children, yet Our Lady did just that.
On July 13th, 1917, Our Lady showed the children hell, this is how Lucia described it:
“Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke, now falling back on every side like sparks in a huge fire, without weight or equilibrium, and amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repulsive likeness to frightful and unknown animals, all black and transparent. This vision lasted but an instant. How can we ever be grateful enough to our kind heavenly Mother, who had already prepared us by promising, in the first Apparition, to take us to heaven. Otherwise, I think we would have died of fear and terror.”
Following what must have been a terrifying experience for such young children, Our Lady spoke, explaining what they had just seen. She said:
“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. Finally, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. In Portugal, the dogma of the faith will always be preserved, etc. …”
Most telling are the words of Our Lady, “IF my requests are heeded.” I think it is safe to say that Our Lady’s message has not been heeded, and we are now reaping the fruit. Russia has not been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart as Our Lady requested, and the errors of Russia have spread through the world via the scourge of communism. We have failed to heed her pleading for the daily rosary, and peace has eluded the world. Her request for the devotion of The Five First Saturdays of Reparation has not been heeded, and sin spreads like a prairie fire consuming the world.
This apparition also confirms that hell is very real, and contrary to what modernist priests, bishops, and so-called theologians say, it is certainly NOT empty.
After this apparition of hell, the visionaries changed. They became serious about doing penance and making reparation. They developed a healthy fear of hell moving them to go to extremes to save the souls of poor sinners. They were, in this, wise beyond their years. They understood what many today fail to grasp, namely, that hell exists, and MANY go there. Thus, there is an urgency to pray, do penance, and make reparation for poor sinners. If only every Catholic took this as seriously as did these three little children! Imagine the souls that would be saved from the fires of hell! Imagine how the world would change if we but had the courage these little children had to do serious penance for the conversion of sinners.
As most of you who read this blog know, Fatima, and its message, is intimately tied to my ALS. This is why I offer my sufferings for the conversion of sinners, in reparation for sin, for the Church, especially her priests. This is why I am constantly preaching the daily rosary for everyone. These things are of eternal consequence. The salvation of souls is at stake.
So, my children, let us take note of today’s little saints. Let us pray the Rosary every single day without fail. Let us make the Five First Saturdays of Reparation. Let us wear the brown scapular. Let us do serious penance for the conversion of sinners.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us.
St. Francisco of Fatima, pray for us.
St. Jacinta of Fatima, pray for us.
